New Booklet -Self Help Theme Print E-mail

The In Care Survivors Service Scotland is going to produce a booklet, with a self help theme, written by Development Workers and hopefully with as many contributions as possible from survivors of abuse in a care setting.

Some ideas for the content are pictures, poems, stories or creative writing by survivors as a way to express their experiences or feelings. Other ideas are self help information and exercises around coping with panic attacks, flashbacks, difficulties sleeping, stress and anger. We could also contribute some healthy eating recipes that may be useful to survivors.

If you are a survivor of any form of abuse in a care setting we would love to receive your contributions, which can be written in your own words and from your own perspective. It might be any of the above ideas or perhaps you have some healthy coping strategies of your own that you could include to help other survivors. Remember that articles can be anonomous or you can choose to put your name on it and Lorna will talk to you about this.

If you would like to contribute in any way to the brochure you can contact Lorna on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  If you have ideas of what you would like the brochure to be called we would love to hear your ideas.

We hope the brochure can be published in the Summer, although this depends on how ready each person is to contribute.
